In the distance, sweeping views over the beautiful Andaman Sea, with lush greenery to my left and right.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath…oh I felt like I was in heaven.
What a beautiful view in Phuket it was, watching the day fade into the night in such a dramatic yet peaceful fashion. And dinner had only just begun at the Sunset Grill in the Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort.
You see, wherever I go, I always look for the best places to watch the sunset. It is such a wonderful time of the day to reflect on the day gone by, and to be thankful for the beautiful life that you have been given.
There are so many restaurants in Phuket that it can be difficult to decide which ones to eat at, but we found the Sunset Grill worth the experience. It is ohhh so romantic, and the hilltop views over the Andaman Ocean is breathtaking. Plus, delicious food and great service makes it a complete experience.

Sunset Grill Restaurant in Phuket
The name says it all… Sunset Grill – that’s exactly what you’ll get at this hilltop restaurant. A dramatically stunning sunset with a menu filled with grilled this and that. From seafood to meats to vegetarian options, while the menu might not be so large, there is enough to choose from to meet different palates.
The Sunset Grill Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Phuket is located right at the top of the hill. Being so elevated on the hilltop of Kamala Bay means uninterrupted panoramic views. And to reach the restaurant you will need to hop onto one of the hotel buggies to take you up the steep hill, but it is worth the trip.
Just as the restaurant opens in the early evening, you can enjoy Happy Hour, which is buy 1, free 1 on selected cocktails….ummmm heck yes! What a perfect start to the evening and a great way to soak in the gorgeous sunset views over Phuket before digging into dinner.
The menu is not huge, but it offers a good selection of different grilled meats to suit every palate. There is even a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The price point is on the higher side, but it is not surprising considering the stunning views and the restaurant being in the 5-star Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort.
For dinner, we opted for the Tuna Steak, which came with a house-made mango salsa – delicious! The tuna was perfectly cooked and it tasted so fresh. It was the perfect dish to enjoy whilst appreciating the hilltop ocean views. We also enjoyed the grilled baby eggplant & tomato, which was lightly seasoned and came with a pesto dressing.
And for the grand finale…Dessert….wow what a highlight of the evening!
We couldn’t pick between the desserts, so we went with 2 desserts – the bombe Alaska and the chocolate mousse. And boy was I so happy to pick the bombe Alaska, because it was a real show. The Chef came out and flambed some liquour which was then poured all over our dessert. It was so dramatic, that it made the experience and taste all the better.
Ohhh the romance, ohhh the sunset, and ohhh the food – it was a great experience. Two thumbs up to the team at the Sunset Grill, because we loved our time here.
The views from the Sunset Grill at the Hyatt Regency Phuket are stunning, and watching the skies turn shades of pink and orange from here is breathtaking. We also found the food to be of great quality, and the service top notch.

Oh yes, buy one, get one happy hour is certainly the way to go! With that delicious looking food and the views, how can you possibly go wrong! That baby eggplant dish looks amazing. And of course dessert! I’m a dessert-first kinda gal myself! LOL.
That view looks incredible. I would visit the restaurant just for the view. However, the food looks great as well. The drinks and desserts look especially enticing.
I love bars with gorgeous views! While I’m visiting a new place I always make sure I get to visit ateast one place that falls into the criteria.
