Common Man Coffee Roasters KL

Known for their amazing coffee, the breakfast and lunch menu here is also sure to please.

Tastefully designed using a beautiful blend of wood, rattan, leather and metal, Common Man is a great spot for those who want to stay a little bit longer and enjoy the good vibes.

I do really love the coffee here and Common Man pride themselves with making a damn good brew. My pick is their Cold Brew, which has hints of orange rind, making this the perfect pick me up.

While the menu may be on the pricier side, you’ll find the portions extremely generous. The Common Man Fluffy Pancakes is my pick of the bunch and comes served with caramelised bananas, a salted caramel sauce with a nutty crumble and berry coulis.

The Common Man Veggie Wonderland and Full Breakfast options are fantastic if you are super duper hungry.

Botanica + Co

Location: Bangsar South

Brunch in Kuala Lumpur | Botanica + Co Restaurant | Hello Raya Blog

Picture an atrium filled with greenery, a greenhouse like setting, and that’s what you get at Botanica + Co. Popular most days of the week, but weekend brunch is where it’s at. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations for brunch, and it does get quite busy for weekend brunch so be prepared to wait.

For brunch you’ll get to enjoy the daily favourites on the menu such as the Halibut Fish & Chips, but if you are wanting something more ‘brunch-y’ try the Cannoli Stuffed French Toast or the Botanica Spicy Shakshuka.

And please-oh-please don’t leave Botanica + Co without having tried their dessert. The Churro Donut Stack and the Valrhona Chocolate Pudding are both amazingly delicious. So delicious that Hubby and I have made specific trips here just to have dessert.

Lisette’s Cafe & Bakery

Location: Bangsar

Lisette's Cafe Bangsar Brunch Kuala Lumpur | Hello Raya Blog

Lisette’s Sunday brunch is where it’s at. It’s so deliciously good, that it’s become a popular spot for locals and expats alike on Sundays. So if you’re keen to check this gem, most definitely book a table.

The brunch here is set out in a buffet style and offers an amazing variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, includes some small meat items. I’m a carnivore myself, however I could definitely turn veg-o if I got to eat at Lisette’s everyday.

It’s a great atmosphere on a Sunday, perfect for a boozy Sunday brunch. Alternatively, if you’re a coffee and pastry kind of person, Lisette’s Cafe in Bangsar offers a wonderful selection of pastries and great coffee to pair.

Entier

Location: Bangsar

Whilst typically most places will whip up brunch classics such as the big breakfast and stacked pancakes, it takes a certain je ne sais quois to raise the stakes and create a brunch experience that’ll have you daydreaming for days.  And Entier, a French restaurant in KL has done just that.

For a brunch affair that’s different, that’s elevated, Entier serves up a brunch that’s unexpected – and there’s caviar and waffles!

Brunch in Kuala Lumpur - Entier French Dining | Hello Raya Blog

The Crab, Caviar & Waffle is definitely a highlight of Entier’s brunch, and it’s served in a classic caviar tin. Delicious crab meat is topped with lobster jelly and caviar from Tanjung Malim. It’s best enjoyed with Entier house-made French waffle which has a slight sweetness that balances against the saltiness of the caviar.

Or you could give the Fish & Chips a go, which is far from conventional. A whole baby-flower grouper fish is fried and served on the plate with a side of thick fries, garden salad, and a house-made tartare sauce. The fish is deliciously tender and pairs beautifully with the tartare sauce.

The brunch menu at Entier is not your average classic brunch menu. It’s taken brunch favorites and turned them on its head, and the result delivers quality flavours using creative French technique.

Ganga

Location: Bangsar

Tucked away along Lorong Kurau, is this quaint little Indian restaurant, Ganga, that makes a mean vegetarian buffet in KL. Every Sunday, Ganga hosts their all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet that is inspired by the cuisine of Gujarat. So if you’re looking for something different, then check out Ganga’s Sunday brunch.

It’s super popular and is busy every Sunday, so I highly recommend booking yourself a table especially if you are planning to arrive after 12pm.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Banana French Toast is a clear winner in my books – fresh Brioche dipped in custard and then cooked to perfection before drizzling a generous amount of honey and nuts.

And if you’re into the more savoury, the Shakshuka is my pick – eggs and feta baked in a roasted pepper stew then served is house-baked bread.

The coffee here is not bad, but my favorite are their coffee alternatives such as the Ginger Turmeric Latte. It uses freshly grated ginger and turmeric, giving this warm goodness a good ol’ spicey kick.

Respecting it’s heritage of this historical part of Kuala Lumpur, any visit to Chocha is filled with intrigue and curiosity.

The Other Half

Brunch Spots in Kuala Lumpur - The Other Half - Hello Raya Blog

Another beautifully designed café is The Other Half, which is found in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI). It’s oddly located, but nevertheless draws in a crowd because of it’s instagrammable design.

The brunch menu is not your atypical menu with the classical egg dishes, but rather it offers a selection of fusion style dishes such as the Risotto Lemak, which is a risotto inspired by Malaysia’s very own nasi lemak.
